Hi Guys Here's one of the original resin "Willy Fast" 41 Willys kits done by my old company "The Good Stuff". I used to co-own the business with Jim Kampmann and I created the original masters that we made the resin kits from. We then sold the rights to Polar Lights and "the rest as they say is history". If you compare this resin model to a Polar Lights plastic version you can see the differences between the two, especially the rear fenders. The wheels are Halibrand style wheels that we used to include in the kits but Polar Lights did not include in any of the plastic versions. I think we used to include a fuel tank for the grille also. This resin demo model was built by my good friend Jay Lewis so we could showcase them when we were selling the resin kits. All you need is some tire smoke and header flames for a really cool in action model. He painted it with "House of Colors" candy oriental blue and used some Stone, Woods and Cooke decals to finish it off. Jay also did the original box art for the kits. I'll be posting some of his fantastic builds in the future. Jim

That looks awesome Jim ! I swear I've never seen that before but it's almost identical to the look I'm going for with my build , right down to the wheels ! I'm really looking forward to seeing some more !

Thanks Bob
I'm sure you probably haven't seen it before as I've never posted any pics of it on the internet. This model is over 17 years old and we only sold the resin kits for a short time before we completed the deal with Polar Lights. We did advertise them in Scale Auto a few times but that's it.
I wanted to show what the original resin kit looked like compared to the plastic version. You can tell the difference in the nose and rear fenders. I had no time to build completed models at the time we were running the business. All my time was spent creating new masters for production, casting parts and filling orders so I had Jay finish a demo model of each toon kit we produced. I still have some of the original resin bodies for myself.
You're doing a great job on your model and it'll look great in the light blue SWC version (I've always wanted to do one of those). We must think alike.
Jim

That is one cool looking Ride. I like the way that looks with the different parts and wish Polar Lights had stuck with the exact copy it would have been great. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures of that its appreciated!
