Hi guys I'd like to join in on the fun. I decided to do a clapped out 55 Chevy gasser from say the late 60's. The lower front valance panel was removed below the grille for that buck toothed look and the rear wheel wells were radiused exposing the slicks. The chrome spears were also removed from the doors. I worked on the chassis a little to give it a more dramatic wheelie launch. All you have to do is make the upper tabs slots longer depending on how high you want the car to be and remove the forward tab on the inner chassis tubs. You also have to remove the upper clips on the axle assembly so the chassis rotates. I hope you can see it in the pictures. I'll try to put markers on my next pics. I'm making a transverse leaf spring, straight axle front end with radius rods but I kinda like how it looks as is, we'll see. That's it for now. Jim

It's amazing the difference that the radiused wheel openings makes , it looks like a completely different body ! I built a Bad Boy a few years ago and it never looked quite right to me . . . your change is a no-brainer . I think it looks much better !

Great Idea I like the AARP car (55 get it???) Anyway enough with the bad jokes! That Body fits so well on that chassis like it was made for it. I like that you did not have to over-modify it to get that look! Cool job and can't wait to see more.

Hi guys Bob, when I did the original body I left the rear fenders in the stock configuration as many of the earlier 55 Chevy drag cars had unaltered rear quarters. I figured it was way easier to radius the rear quarters than go the other way and try to un-alter the radiused ones. It's really pretty easy and took less than an hour to do it. It really does change the look but I'll post some pics of a stock one soon that I think you'll like. I've got to wait for better light outdoors. Thanks Don and Steelwool (AARP car!) as Fred Flintstone would say "Funny, very Funny!" I've got one update. I added some litening holes in the trunk lid (I think they helped remove smoke and air pressure inside the car too) which took longer to do than the rest of the body mods. It adds to the ragged look. I failed to mention that the wing windows were also removed like they were on fiberglass doors. Here's a pic. The front axle should be done this week plus I think I'm going to go with injectors instead of a blower, we'll see. Jim
