Here's throwing a wrench into my theory . A Screamin' Vette in the original box (still has the cellophane on it), molded in orange and gray , and it has smoked glass . All of the other orange Snap-Tites I've seen have clear glass so I thought they were produced later in the red/wht/blue logo boxes . And I thought the early boxes with the Monogram Boy logo were all green glass . Guess there's no way of knowing .

From the research I have done, It appears we can narrow down time frames from the various logos Monogram used over the years as it pertains to the snaptites. The Monogram Boy logo was used from 1967 thru 1971. I know the snaptites were not released until 1970 the first time, but I found the boy logo in use as early as 1967 on other kits. The Mattel Red Ball logo was used from 1970 thru 1972 creating an overlap from the Boy logo. The Red, White, & Blue Stripe logo was in use from 1972 thru 1976 creating another overlap from the Ball logo, and then various versions of the stripe logo continued on after that. The reason for the year/logo overlaps would have been from current stock of printed boxes on hand, much like when you are trying to nail down a year of manufacture of vintages drums. It is common to find say a 1969 drum shell noted by markings inside the shell with a 1968 badge mounted to the outside of vice versa. They stamped serial numbers sequentially on the badge and kept a "loose" running count of how many were issued in a given year, but did not keep track of drum shells by date of manufacture. It was just next drum shell in line got the next badge grabbed out of the box by the assembler. With all that long wind explanation, Whew! I would surmise that the Green to Smoked glass changeover would have happened in the 1971/72-ish time frame, and the Smoked to Clear glass changeover would have been 1973/74-ish time. Remember, this was the time period of weird colors for kits as the factories were scrambling for plastic to make products. You sir have an anomaly. First series box, Second series glass and Third series body color. With these things, anything is possible.

And the mystery continues. Here are three examples of hard to find colors. These were on eBay a while back, so I'm not sure the Orange Mustang came with the silver parts and clear glass or if it was a mix and match.

Bob, take a look at your Mustang White box, and then go back and look at the Mustang White box I posted. Even though they are both White boxes, they are distinctly different designs.

Actually your white box Boss Mustang is a pic of the end panel . HAH , I've made that same mistake many times looking at boxes on line ! The orange Thunder Bug on Worthpoint isn't mine . That photo's been there for quite a few years , maybe one of the first ones I ever saw . I agree with your timeline for the different logos and how colors could have carried over from one series to the next , not to mention the plastic pellets being swept off the floor and reused ! Tom D. confirmed that it happened a lot and is responsible for all the different shades of green . Even with the unknowns it may still be worth adding them all to the Box Art post . I've got dozens of new box art that need to be added , hopefully I can get to it one of these days .

Jeez, I must have been out taking a whiz on that one, LOL. Now that you point it out, you are right. That box is not mine, I found the pic on line and didn't even realize it was an end panel. Now for another mind blower, here is a Dark Teal Blue Dune Rat in my possession that didn't fare too well. If it wasn't a rare color, I'd just do it as a topless dune buggy and paint it.... To go with it I have found pics of the Vette in Teal Blue.... And pics of a T Bug in Teal Blue....

I've seen a teal Vette and Thunder Bug but never a Dune Rat ! To bad it's in such bad shape . I've had success making replacement parts from sprues before but that would require a lot of teal plastic ! There's got to be a teal Boss Mustang out there too , since those four bodies were in the same mold .

SWEET, did it come built or in the box with the Green glass? I got just the body in a trade and built it with parts I had , guess that's how odd combinations happen .

On the colored/smoked/clear glass, keep in mind that Monogram was also doing that with their glue kits.
The first issue Snake and Mongoose funny cars had blue glass, but switched to smoked glass at some point. I have a 1973 white box Snake with smoked glass. The original Troublemaker funny car had dark smoked glass, but I got an eBay built/salvage Troublemaker a while back that turned out have green (!!) glass. The Outcast box shows the car with smoked glass, but the built ones I have and all of them I’ve seen on eBay have clear glass. The Cherry Bomb kits I remember in the shops in the mid ‘70s were the white box showing the car with smoked glass, but they apparently switched to clear at some point. And I got an original box (orange/illustrated, but with the red, white, blue stripe Momogram logo) Dog Catcher a few years ago that has the original orange kit but with a smoked windshield bubble.
They definitely progressed from assorted color glass around 1969/70 with the Tom Daniel kits, switched to smoked, and then to clear, but I wouldn’t put money on when any of the switches were made, or that they were made at the same time across the board.

The TD stuff, and older Monograms in general, has been going nuts on eBay lately. Prices have krept up on most of it, and a few things are justified, but there are now regularly auctions where folks want several hundred dollars for something that should sell for like $80 or $120, for instance. There is someone who has had several old TD kits for sale as “Collectors sets” for several years now. They don’t actually sell. But worse is that everyone now seems to think that recent or fairly recent reissues are all worth $40-70, despite there being a dozen or two listings. And the standard shipping cost seems to have gone up to $12.90, with a lot of sellers now doing $15.90. Brian
