I had a little time this afternoon so I started the process of opening the wheel area and trimming around the lower portion of the body... phase 1 under way !! Not much progress but a start to the Derby !!

Here the body after cutting windows, tires and bumpers. Since the mold is very soft I had to reinforce the inside of it, it will help keeping the body on shape.

After cutting the wheels out. Put the little bug in the tub for a scrub. Oh NO! I forgot rubber duck will eat a resin bug. Shoo! Those Devil ducks are the worst.

Here the body after cutting windows, tires and bumpers. Since the mold is very soft I had to reinforce the inside of it, it will help keeping the body on shape. I am building an interior tub that will reinforce my tiny buggy. Can't wait to see what your up to.

I woke up in the middle of the night with an idea !! So first thing this morning I started cutting (I see a trend here ) . I plan on relocating those wheel arches that were cut off and adding some filler to give the bug a little more beef ! This is what I remembered last night . Had it for a while and maybe can use some parts on the bug .

I wanted the rear fenders to be wider than the front ones. I heated the body with hot water to stretch the rears and narrow the front of the body.

I played around with the Buggy and mocked up a few ideas but it just wasn't working like I had hoped . So I shifted gears and tried something completely different . . . I think I can work with this !
