Base coats laid on. I will let things dry while we go to the river for the day.

Did a little painting on the cockpit last night . The wings are 6 separate pieces , after fiddling with them a few minutes I figured out how they work . The end of the wing snaps out and then folds up !

Got some build time today...This is fun usin only stuff from the kit...Took some of the "hop-up" out of the engine...Air filters and muffler are from cut off wheel backs...Carbs are cut in half...Intake manifold from sprue heated and bent...Didn't like how far the engine stuck out so chassis is shortened a little.

I wanted a darker blue than what it was molded in but didn't have anything handy . So I tried some Tamiya Clear Blue over the plastic . Not bad . . . it's actually darker than it looks on the photo .

Always loved the show "Bah-bah Blacksheep" with Robert Conrad among the cast .. he flew the F4U Corsair .. !!

I'm in awe of the paint work that you guys do... I like prop and piston planes better than jets. I live 20 minutes west of Valley Forge. I knew that the USS Valley Forge was built in Philly and first sailed in Korean War. I checked the markings on Tooold's Corsair build and came up with this. photorecon.net/corsair-korean-war-hero/

Instead of laying down a nice paint job, I'm making a U-turn. I started with dull cote on parts. Stripped the chrome on the scoop and blower. Primered the blower but the paint started to crack, maybe from the humidity. I am using the box bottom for the "barn", thus it's a barn find Wrusty Willys. I wanted to use the clear parts bag for the car cover but it would not conform to the body with a hair drier. I wet a piece of paper from the instruction sheet and it worked, just ok. Let's see how good my weathering skills are. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted Attachment Deleted
