Love that you are taking such care with a rare kit. Lookin beautious! Thanks .. itโs been a real challenge mating parts.. smoothing, prepping.. even re-casting several parts .. the engine in this kit is really rough but Iโm going to make the best of it !

A little more color applied trying not to rush .. still plenty of time before the contest deadline ! A quick mock-up on the chassis is keeping me motivated ..

Really coming to life Victor.... l mean Chuck ๐
Paint sure is showing off the superb sculpting๐
If you can find some straws, or styrene tubing, or even brass- you could slide a short length on those header ends.... true them up, clean up the ends? Thin the edge first.....

Thin the edge first..... John I agree !!! You should have seen these BEFORE I smoothed them Up .. lol.... Iโve actually looked into several options even to the extent of adding a GMP 1/16th scale highly detailed old school hemi. As soon as I did a Mock up it looked great but took away what the sculptor hand in his mind.. the out-of-round , less than perfect design of the headers are part of the cartoon look and in my humble Opinion modifying them to look โnormalโ desensitized the vision of the artist. However I plan on leaving the engine assembly loose and down the road may build a set of car-toon headers with the same look using different materials.. that isnโt gonna Happen before the contest deadline with my schedule ๐๐๐

After much thought I decided to somewhat upgrade the engine .. I still wanted it to say โcar-toonโ but not take everything away that the artist envisioned when he sculpted it .. this the rough looking blower and clunky headers earned a spot in the winners circle.. (engine shots are before and after)carbs, new blower scoop, distributor, plug wires and valve covers were added.. also closing in on some of the final figure details... stay-tooned !!
