This started as a Deals Wheels Glitter Bug kit which I modified the driver, decals, German helmet and I wired the engine. I scratch built the snake and buzzard out of wire and black Crayola clay and the saguaro cactus from wooden dowels and did a bit of light weathering with the desert base. These are the mandatory three pictures that are allowed here for the group build and the rest will be in a finished build thread here: car-toons.proboards.com/thread/1913/baja-cartoon-build-toons-contest . Thanks for letting me play, it was a blast! I hope you like it!!! Great job !! All the extras are well done sir!!

Combine a Zzzzz28 and a '70 Mustang body with lots of cuttin' and gluein', paint it Grabber Orange with custom decals , add Minilite wheels from a diecast , and Dave Deal's cousin George as the driver , and you have . . . . . . THE BOSS
Absolutely stunning Bob ! If I didn't know any better I would swear this was a Deal's Wheels kit! Awesome work, Bob!

Satan's Crate Built this one pretty much out of the box. Everything was brush painted with Vallejo and craft paints. The only changes I made were lengthening the pitchfork and the flames on the candles. Had a lot of fun building it!! Thanks for all the nice comments, I really appreciate it.

Ok, late to the party as usual , but here's my finished entry . Restored Deals's Wheels Super Spurt Chevelle , ex gluebomb. Body repaired and painted with Testors One Coat Custom lacquer over a white base , and several coats of gloss clear the last to seal the repro decals (thanks Bob ! ) The frame is also Testors One Coat ; I know people have had issues with this paint, but I've painted over 20 kits with it with absolutely no problems . Clear parts polished and buffed as best as I can get to remove years of scratches and light glue marks. The axles are plastic rod as the originals were broken and the wheel hubs drilled out to accept the rod . The hardest was putting the headers together ;these kits a notoriously brittle and each pipe was broken into individual pieces - some were from different kits so that took the longest time. The bumpers were masked off and painted with Alclad , as was the blower, headers and hood scoop. Thanks again for this contest, I've had this lying around for years, and now my Phoney car finally has some competition at the dragway !
