Anticipating getting my hands on a few Deal's Wheels No-Mads and the possibilities thereby, I had to break out the saw on something already in my stash! A Deal's Wheels Never Was: the 53 cHevy Passer Van I've got body work to do, but the chassis of the No-Mad (or the 57 cHevy) fits perfectly!

Thanks, guys! Some putty and a double shot of primer for this mock-up. Added some half-round to exaggerate the split line a bit. I may trade the scoop for four inline pipes Still have some touch-up to do, and haven't decided on a paint scheme... but I've ordered my Nomads!

Body proportions are perfect - looks like Deal could have drawn it. Just my 2 cents but I think a set of injector stacks would look really cool.

When I saw the first picture I have to admit I cringed slightly, since this is one of my top five favorite kits. Then I saw the second picture and I laughed and said "Yes this looks right!" The half round on the splitline is perfect. Yes the scoop is big, but it is a Cartoon car, and I agree with budtugly it looks like Deal drew it. I think the scoop gives it the "Deal" look. Don't be surprised if this one is replicated,(a lot) I'm searching for my extra body I have, right now! Great idea and work! Can't wait to see it finished.

Decided to build a little inset for the intakes (didn't want them to be just stuck on the hood). Some half round and putty. and a pic of the intakes I pulled together from the parts box. The bells are from a Royal Rail. I wanted something different from the Nomad scoop for this version. I just received my Nomads from Tower Hobbies, so now I'll do some work on the chassis and interior this weekend!

As it stands at the moment. Going for a variation on the military theme from the recent Revell release box, but with a lighter spin. Decals need to be produced. Wish I had bought an Aps printer to do up some light colored text, but, oh well. I'll manage. Painted Olive Drab with a Boot Brown interior. Nomad chassis fit perfectly, with some very minor mods. I raised the rear just slightly to give the rear wheels some space. Still working on a driver.
