Thanks for the compliments guys ! Hard to believe its been 10 years since I built this , my first and only attempt so far to try and build something Dave Deal could have drawn up. It was a lot of fun, and I got fifth place in the contest which I was very happy with considering the great builds that were entered. I'm honored to have my Furd posted as the featured build for June ! Well deserved buddy ! I wasn't a member back then but I remember watching that contest and there were a bunch great Toons , you can be proud of the win !  |

#29I think it's time to acknowledge some current Toons so first up for this months Featured Toon is this Deal's Wheels Stink Ray built by long time member Count Dragula . For his first ever Deal's Wheels build he converted a Funster Vette into a DW Stink Ray and finished it with an awesome Purple-Lucious paint job !
Congrats on your first Todd , very well done !

I am extremely honored to have my little vette picked as this months featured toon build! To be recognized by my peers here means a lot to me! There are a lot of talented builders who are members here, and I feel very lucky to be a member of the “CarToons Hall of Fame”.

#31You may not recognize the name but surely you recognize the two Featured Toons as they are also in our header on the Home Page . Paul built these two DW's along with many more , and also created the original artwork /logo for our site .
Paul was a member of the original Coffin Corner and the Admin that kept our sister site the Coffin Corner II running smoothly since 2006 . While not a regular participant here he was very involved in the creation of the Car-Toons Board , a story I'm sure Chuck can tell better than I can . He was a good friend to many of us and will be missed ."Man that looks great .. Paul and I conspired because people were posting all types of "crazy stuff" on the Coffin Corner II AND IT DROVE Paul crazy !! I jokingly said "you should start a cartoon board and send them invites"… well he did just that and after getting it set up graciously handed it over but stayed on as not to look too suspicious ...he was crusty , and cantankerous to say the least .. you either loved him or lived to hate him .. he was also instrumental in several 8th scale boards on the internet and kept them running smooth as silk .. your statements above are spot on my friend !!" - Chuck Go to the following link to see more of Paul's work , both Show Rods and Toons including this month's two Featured Toons .

#32While trying to decide what to feature for Halloween I remembered a really cool toon built by Plastimatic .
Presenting this month's Featured Toon . . . "BatManiac" !
Jim started with a Mr. Gasser kit and added a Batmobile nose along with a few other bits and pieces to transform the '57 Chevy , then with some creative putty work Mr. Gasser magically became the "BatManiac". Jim finished this creation with his usual detailing and excellent paint work . Holy Bat Fink !
Congratulations Jim , definitely my favorite Batman Toon of all time !

Awesome for the BatManiac to be featured!
He was one of those projects that fester in your brain until all the bits line up and you just have to let him out.
