Love that Candy Red! Also a really nice fade from dark red to lighter. It's like you really know what you're doing, great planning and execution. Ira's not one to toot his own horn much, but (if you didn't already know it?) he's another guy who has been a scale modeling writer / builder for a bunch'a years. Check out his web site, over here, to see a good selection of his pre-toon car models: www.sonic.net/~joymkrs/Dahm/

Thanks for the link, Ira has built up an unbelievably impressive body of work. There's so much creativity and skill going on there that it's mind boggling!

DETAILS...
I painted the inside with Flat Black, including the area inside the grill opening. Broken Glass! I built the Cam-Air from a built-up-glue bomb 57 Chevy. The rear window was broken, but I managed to get it un-glued and cleaned up. I went ahead and installed the cracked rear window. It reminds me of the Cam-Air beginnings. When the interior in place, it looks like the Rear Speakers are Big enough to crack some glass. Mouse Ears!I won this antenna several years ago in a raffle at my first NNL. I am finally going to use it on the Cam-Air! More Coming...

FIXING THE CRACK!I decided to add window posts on the rear window to cover the crack. I used half round plastic strip for the posts... I used Formula 560 glue to attach the posts to the window. Cracks Gone! The window posts were then covered with Chrome Bare Metal Foil. More Coming...

I really like those rear window posts. To me it makes the car look a bit Studebaker-y. Lord knows I loves a Studebaker!

And that Mickey Mouse antennae ball is just a hoot ... in a very good and cool and creative way! (I'll have to steal that "straight pin with ears" idea, for a planned future build for a friend of mine!)

Really Nice and candy red makes a difference! Just looked at the mickey mouse antenna? if it is ... I usually make my own antenna like this but not mickey mouse and used them on a baja humbug with a smiley face on it... the pieces were from an old guitar wire and glued the beads given by my daughter who spent time making kiddies necklaces and stuff... had to strip off the paint on the beads because of finish, the paint wont stay on it so I removed it... glue inside the bead along with wire and then sand off the excess dried glue on outside bead to round up... then I dipped in any color paint just enough it reaches the other side of bead.. as I get the paint enough out.. moving around to keep the paint even on bead along with hair dryer to dry up...then all I did was just add the smile face.. VOILA... Since I see this sample you re using ( mickey mouse) I will find a way to make some and try that By the way, really awesome job and love this car and have to say it sure stands out among other creations you have made so far RIDE ON!
