CAM-AIR!I picked up couple of a Deals Wheels Glue Bombs for a kit bashing project. The plan is to make a Custom Deals Wheels '57 Chevy Street Machine! The Chevy was held together with a Lot of old Testors Glue. I got it wet and put it in the freezer overnight. I managed to get the model apart without doing too much more damage to the body. I glued the cracks in the body with Zap-A-Gap, Green Label CA Glue. Fortunately the body damage wont show on the finished Heavy Chevy. The Camaro Body was in pretty good shape. I decided the put the Camaro Fenders on the Chevy. So, I cut off the body sides with a Cut-Off Wheel in a Dremel Tool. More Coming...

MAKE IT WIDE!After moving the Z-28 Sides around a little I found the Perfect mounting points on the '57 Chevy Body. I held the body parts together and marked the mounting line for the Z-28 Sides. Next, I glued the sides in place with Zap-A-Gap Green Label Glue. Here is the rear view... More Coming...

PULL IT IN!The Z-28 sides stick out too much at the front/bottom... I cut along the seam and moved the front panels in closer! More Coming...

THE REAR END!I cut a piece of sheet plastic to fit between the rear fenders, for a New Roll Pan. Then I glued it in place. The bottom edge of the body was a little rough, so I marked a straight line above the problem area... I cut along the line with a Cut-Off Wheel in the Dremel Tool. Then I cut a length of plastic strip to fit and glued it in place! More Coming...

BRACING UP THE BODY!I measured and cut some plastic strips for Body Braces. I glued in one on each side to the '57 Body. Then I glued in two more strips, one on each side. These braces will hold the Z-28 body sides straight. More Coming...

MAKING ROOM!I marked the Inside Body Sides using the Outside Wheel Wells as guides. I am mounting the BiG Deals Wheels Tires as far inboard as I can so I need a Lot of room. I cut pretty close to those lines with a Cut-Off Wheel, then I used a Sanding Drum in a Dremel Tool to round out the Inner Wheel Wells. Front-Side View... Underside. More Coming...

ZZZZZZ-28 UP FRONT!I looked at a lot of different possibilities for a New Front End and I ended up coming back to the Z-28. It looks like it will be a Great Fit! After some measuring and fitting, I marked to cut off line for the Z-28 hood... I cut off the Z-28 Hood with a Cut-Off Wheel in a Dremel Tool. I glued the Z-28 Hood to the Front End. Now for some more Fitting and Cutting! More Coming...

THICK HOOD!Here is a close up on the front, notice how the Z-28 Nose sets lower than the '57 Hood.... I hate too add a lot of putty if I don't have to, fortunately the '57 Hood is Very Thick, so I ground it down flush with the Nose. I also ground down the areas below the Headlights and around the Nose. Here is the Front End after the work was done... More Coming...
