Dig them pants ! Lookin' good Chuck ! I hope they work out Bob! I've got a couple more coats of white to do then the black squares.... I redone the eyeballs as they weren't smooth enough to suit me.... I finished the first base coat on his "wife beater" t-shirt.. Now time for things to dry overnight ...

Starting with a base of white I add and blend the other colors to get the effect I want.. Then apply the clear... Below is a list of the paints I used for the teeth and mouth.. The name of the company is CITADEL .. there may be other acrylic type paints on the market for less money that would give similar results ...

Thanks chuck....the teeth look real...do you use the graveyard earth as a wash to give you the lines between the teeth or fine line it? any "complementing" color will usually work as long as it's dark.. it adds depth.. I start with very light coats and blend them using water and dry brushing technics where I may just "dust" over another color .... it's like building models.. the more you do the better the results.. I've seen some that actually DO look spot on real buy blending white, light tans and browns .. I wanted his gums to be part of the equation so it took me a little longer to get the look I wanted .. I make notes on paper of which colors I use for what in case I need to go back and do a little touch up. I set my paint on the paper and write "teeth" or "gums" and always return the paint to the same "spot" on the paper .. brushes are another factor.. I have skinny brushes, fat brushes, fan type brushes, cheap brushes and expensive super fine brushes... just like farming or being a mechanic .. having the right tools makes for a more enjoyable experience .. certain parts receive Dullcoat when finished while other might receive high gloss or even 2-part automotive urethane clear for the look i'm after.. I use lacquer, enamel, flats, glosses, satin, urethane inner coat clear which helps keep paints form bleeding into each other.. (like on Sammy's Surfboard) .. and urethane top coats.. and lots and lots of trial and error ...lol..

It's found with all the Citadel Paints and comes in the small bottles .. This type of paint is used on gaming figures.. I usually take a small amount and drip it in place... I hold a small stir stick (or comparable) underneath the area to catch and reapply if it drips off... The more it's exposed to air the thinker it becomes until it tacks over.. Also used to make eyes look "wet" ...It takes a little playing but I'm my opinion I think it looks more realistic compared to expoxy ... However expoxy is much cheaper !! #61-85 is the product number pictured second from the right below -

I'm not sure if this will help but instead of a painters pallet I use glass to mix my paint when blending ... I've always built in a sheet of glass putting one-sided sticky backed foam strips on the back to keep from scratching the table ... Once I've chosen my paint colors I dab a little on the glass ...not to worry about it drying out just dip your brush in some water and work it into the paint ... Here are some shots of the painting aftermath .. When finished either wipe with a warm soapy rag OR take a single edged razor blade and make a few quick swipes !! The cotton swab was used for making eye veins after pulling the end slightly then twisting into a fine point .. I always have more paint than needed after dipping so a few quick swipes across the glass will remove the unwanted leaving enough to make a nice thin line ...
