Well ... As with most builds there's always that little something that drives you crazy... I'm not sold on the orange t-shirt that I thought would just "pop"... I've been struggling with hair choice as well... Orange, grey (long hippie style) , and purple to match the center racing stripe on his long board... I've still got a fair amount of work to do like adding a hem on the bottom of his shirt and some little details... I'd honestly like to finish this up and try squeezing in a couple-a-three more by the end of the Summer Fun in the Sun Contest... Flower Power Rocks .. Kudos out to Briz and Keith for supplying me with a bouquet of flowers for Sam's shirt .. You guys rock !!   |

I think you just need a different finish on the shirt. .. (I like it) maybe a varnish on it? to make it a silk Hawaiian shirt and it will stand off the flat paint of the body? Maybe the trim of the shorts has to be the orange - same color as the shirt? Or the shorts turn into blue jean CUT-OFFS? Like we all wore back in the day?
Just a thought?

OK... sometimes I just plain mess things up ... I've never been good with colors ... (my wife swears I'm colorblind) ... A Tattoo is definitely in order Don .. and Dan- blue jean shorts would've been cool BUT I just about went cross-eyed permanently so the checkered shorts stay !! Bhwaaa-ha-ha ! .. I'm thinking maybe about putting a clearcoate over the shirt and seeing what that does.. it actually looks better in person but the orange was a water based acrylic and didn't have that "orange crush" look I was after... but of course hind sight is an exact science so I may have to live with the outcome once the clear is brushed on or Dull coat .. we shall see.. I actually started with some long grey synthetic hair that looked pretty cool.. then I tried bright orange.. and he was WAY "out there" if you know what I mean.. still going to trim the lower portion of his t-shirt.... another option I thought was to grab the wife's sewing machine and whip him up a real tie-dyed t-shirt.. ahhh yes.. my wheels are STILL turning so all is not lost !..

Ok fellas.... Can I get a post or two of a photo to show me what type of fringe is being suggested please ?? I'm having a tough time I visioning this .... All I can find are WOMENS t-shirts with fringe.... Now I'm bummin'
