70sfunnycars.com/FunnyCars2.html
Thanks for the link , those were always my favorites and that's the look I'm shooting for . For the headers I started using 1/8" aluminum rod but ran out so I switched to solid core solder which is much easier to work with . The zoomies are the pieces I cut off of the original headers .
Thanks for the header info. Hey it's your build but did you notice that I'm trin' to steer you to a big flat rear spoiler like the type that I like with that 70's funny link.... :0 Its fun imagineerin' other peoples builds.

I noticed ! Immediately after you gave me the link I made up some spoilers out of card stock to see what they would look like . The bigger ones I made looked good but I kinda like it a bit smaller like this one !

It's a shame Big Deal is "down in Baja" at present, and can't see that one. Coolest Super Spurt I've seen to date ... and it just keeps on gettin' cooler with each update! Bravo, sir!

Yup, You got it just right.. well maybe a little low section in the middle of the spoiler to get air to the parachute... I'm glad I could help...HaHa. Now for the paint you are on your own.... This toon stuff and all of you guys are so much fun...with the toon stuff and this site this is the most enjoyment that I've ever gotten from model buildin'. I'll shut up now and figure out the right way to post pictures so I'm not usin' up bandwich with attachments...Duh...

When you get this thing finished I'd like a picture of your McLaren and the funny together. Just so I can stare at them and smile...

The spoiler's done and all of the body work is done . Now I'm thinking about making new windows and mounting flanges . . . if it doesn't work I have the stock glass from the kit .

Perfect spoiler!!! Most 70's funnys didn't have side windows and some just had the front half of the side window. They didn't have roof hatches or venting to clear the smoke out of the body. Also closed in windows sometimes fogged up the drivers goggles at 3/4 track. I'm really, really likin' your build. I agree with Kooltoon's better and better statement...

The mounting flanges for the windows weren't as hard to make as I thought they'd be , but cutting the clear plastic to fit is a bit tricky ! They're pretty close now and after paint I'll install them using some tiny rivets I have (if I can find them !) . The rear window will be covered with a decal after paint . Thanks smokey for the tip on the side windows !
