Big improvement on the engine, Bob! I'm with you on finding that perfect blue hue. My Dad owned on of these (but in the hardtop, four door style) and I'm constantly looking to replicate it: Attachment Deleted

The color I have now isn't perfect but it's the closest I've found . Nice New Yorker , we had one when I was growing up too .

In my opinion the biggest mistake Polar Lights made with the Snap-Draggins is this butt ugly base . So I found a scrap of plexiglass in the garage and cut a new base , then drilled and countersunk a couple of holes . Ta Da !

I see that the base is back pretty far. Does that mean that we're plannin' on a little tire smoke? That's just a little thought from me in the hopes of seein' tire smoke. Haha

Making some inserts so the wheels will look like 5-slot Halibrands . They still need to be cleaned up but should work okay .

Great job on the wheels. Cant' wait to see the smoke. I haven't tried to do smoke yet. I'll be learnin' from you...again

The SW&C Willys used a reinforced rear bumper as a push bar , so I needed to make one . I bent a piece of 3/16 tubing to match the rear of the body , marked the centerline , and used a Dremel to remove the inside material . Then the ends were cut and glued onto each end so it could be sanded to the proper shape . Here I'm just double checking the bumper before finishing it . I also added a bumper bracket to the chassis plate . Stay tooned !

The Willys needs some big fat exhaust dumps . I flared some tubing over the end of a punch , using a heat gun to carefully soften the plastic without melting it into a blob of nothing . After three attempts I had two good pieces . I did the same to a couple smaller tubes for the header pipes . They need to be cut down shorter and some mounting figured out . . .

Time for a little self-motivation . . . Applied a few decals , did a little BMF , and made the grille !
