I'm Ward Shrake, currently age 52. Besides my interest in 'toon models, I also enjoy reading about / building / planning to build basically any kind of vehicular model that I feel fits under the umbrella of "cool shapes and colors". Although I'm based stateside, from time to time I write for a publication out of England, called "Sci-Fi & Fantasy Modeller"; and enjoy doing that whenever I can. www.scififantasymodeller.co.uk/English/welcome.phpI haven't written anything for them, super-recently ... but in their "Horror and Monster Modeller" special issue I had a total of four articles. (And all of them were fairly long -- as are most of my articles for that publication. Lotsa space for words and pics, for we article-writers over there; since there's no ads at all in SF&FM; and since they encourage as many details on our builds / processes as we care to share!) I wrote roughly a dozen total articles for them, since 2008 or 2009-ish.

I'm Brian Bush, but known as Scott. I'm 47, maybe the youngest one, living in northern Virgina close to Washington DC with these crazy rushy life. Started the Plastic model kits when I was very young and went off from it around at 14. Went to college and studied art, and had looked at these kits in Hobby store once again after a long absence, around age of 26. Bought a kit and got the curse back . End up with many kits in box and saving for my retirement Plastic is something I cant say no to and is always my relaxation time doing art work, doing model car building , wood working and some other hand related work. My dad has a wood shop, now mine after he passed on. I always like living in man cave where I can really hide from daily life and being able to spill my guts out. I think plastic model building is also a part of art as you put creativity in it.

Gordon Enquist, I am 60+, retired have always enjoyed building and painting models. Used to do a lot of military miniatures but have slid over to car-toons and non cartoon cars. I blame Alclad for this, now scale chrome can be achieved rather than put up with "toy" chrome in the kits. Have done most of the Dave Deals and Hawk Silly Surfer releases. I enjoy this site for the creativity shown and hope to contribute more in the future. Cheers Eh!

Strangely enough my name is Jim Bertges. I've been building models since I was a wee tot in 1957 and living in Alaska. I'm currently 64 and landed in Simi Valley, California where I'm living and building today. Although my main interests are Science Fiction and Horror kits, I cut my modeling teeth on AMT and Monogram car kits back in the 60s and I enjoy an automotive or a military project now and again. I have had articles appear in Modeler's Resource, Kitbuilders, Amazing Figure Modeler and Fine Scale Modeler and I'm currently build commissions for a shop in Burbank called Creature Features as well as from my own website, All Plastic Model Building Services. Look me up on Facebook........if you dare......

my name is joe sarnie... bubbajoe is nickname i picked up from the kids about 20 years ago...you see i had an english mastiff ,225 lbs of pure heart, my shadow.. my wife once commented if you looked quick you couldn't tell us apart.. one of my girls said thats bubbadog(his nickname) and thats bubbajoe... it stuck...i've only been modeling for a little over 2 years.it gives me a creative outlet i desperately need , i have a very physical job but not very taxing on the old brain matter.modeling is an offshoot from my other hobby of restoring old die cast cars, mostly matchbox and corgi toys. I love this hobby and keep striving to improve my meager skills with each build i complete.I really love the process of building and figuring out how to do or fabricate something. my nemesis is paint....shading,shadowing, hi lights etc..putting down a nice even coat without bubbles of orange peel, spraying a gloss coat. you get the picture. but with each build i see a little improvement in my technique. please. please feel free to comment on my build. good bad or otherwise....i can use all the help i can get and am more than willing to listen and take advice from this group, who i consider some of the best modelers i have seen to date.. i'm really getting into these cartoon build... pretty much the sky is the limit on creativity . since so many have posted selfies ..here is my attempt at one with a digital camera...i get all the hand me down electronics in the family...i'm pretty low tech kind of a guy
guess i forgot to mention i'm 55..having a pre senior moment

I'm Smokey Fegley in Stowe,PA. My "yekoms" name on the site is me backwards. I'm a cylinder head guy in a race engine shop. After generations of firemen (I'm not) I was named for it. I like hot rods ( any type of machine that is modified) Kayaking, Craft beer, long walks on the beach, puppies, blah, blah blah... I've been buildin' models on and off as far back as I can remember. Here is a picture of me with my latest build on mom's couch in '67 at 7 years old and on our couch with the latest build in '15 at 55. My wife had fun duplicatin' the old picture. I really enjoy the cartoon builds. There is lots of modifin' and not much detailin'. Although this site takes away some buildin' time seein' what you guys are doin' keeps my wheels turnin'. All of you guys are great. Thanks Smokey yekoms... Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Well, my name is Dan Barten - Barten for short. Born in '61. I live North Northwest of Chicago - I'm a graphic designer by trade, specializing in corporate branding and package design for almost 30 years now. (This year will be 25 years running my business) My favorite challenge is building wild cars from plastic things found around the house or office . . .as many of you know. . .I started at the CC and still go there once in a while to visit with old friends. I love scale kits of all kinds but the wild ones are my favorite. But I focus mostly on cars and starting to collect some tanks and military things. I also collect small scale cars (matchbox hotwheels tootsie and anything like that. . . and I like them in used condition. Because I can't compete with the dealers. This is me and my daughter. . . who is the only other "Cool Car" lover in the family. This is the build that got me noticed many years ago. Thanks for the introductions. GB barten

Dennis Collins, 67 retired & building models, mostly scratch building. The pic shows the first floor of my 1/16 scale Desert Explorer I'm working on & I thought this might be a fun thing for a small break. I have never built a cartoon so here I am to learn.
I changed my pix to my first build done on this forum.
